A wise man, Professor Dr. Liebig, discovered long ago that the least available resource is the one that limits plant growth, even when all other resources are abundant. Therefore, if you want your plant to achieve maximum growth, you must pay attention to what your least available resource might be and provide it to your plant.
1. Drink enough but not too much
The right water supply is crucial for good plant growth. Water is essential for plants to carry out photosynthesis, i.e. to convert light into energy for growth. The water is absorbed through the plant's root system. The amount of water and the frequency with which the plants are watered are particularly crucial. The type of plant determines whether the soil can be dry from time to time or should be constantly moist. Factors that also influence a plant's water requirements are light intensity and ambient temperature. The more light and the warmer the ambient air, the more photosynthesis takes place and the more water evaporates, hence the more water the plant needs.
2. Moving to a larger apartment
If you want your plant to show maximum growth, you should treat it to a new, larger pot. This is the only way the root system can expand, absorb more water and nutrients, and grow. If you really want to do something good for your plant, you can place it temporarily or permanently in a greenhouse. These are also available in a smaller format for your home.
3. The right substrate
To grow well, your plant needs the right soil, or the right substrate. You have to be careful, because some substrates are so overfertilized that your plant is more likely to die from the flood of nutrients than grow larger and stronger. A nutrient imbalance is often to blame for this phenomenon: If one substance predominates, others cannot be absorbed or are absorbed with difficulty, leading to reduced plant growth. So, find out exactly what your plant needs and buy a high-quality substrate.
Our FARBIO® soil improver is a natural and effective additive for your soil. Its special formula with humic acids optimizes the soil, improving nutrient uptake and promoting plant growth.
4. Regular fertilization
Your plants can only truly thrive when all their needs are met. This includes the right amount of water and the right soil substrate, as well as an adequate supply of nutrients. Since plants absorb nutrients from the air and soil and convert them into leaf mass and fruit, they will stop growing without adequate nutrients. This deficiency occurs particularly quickly in potted plants, as the roots have only a limited amount of space with soil and the nutrients it contains. Regular fertilization can prevent this growth stall.
Our FARBIO® organic fertilizer for green plants supports you in nourishing your houseplants! Fertilizing with key nutrients promotes rapid growth and supports the development of lush green leaves and magnificent blooms.
5. The right light
If you really want to maximize your plant growth, you should consider purchasing a dedicated light for your plants. Blue, ultraviolet, and red light have the highest proportion of usable wavelengths for plants. Low-energy light, such as green and yellow wavelengths, are reflected by the plant and therefore only help to a limited extent in stimulating growth. If you purchase an artificial light that emits very high-energy light, the plant can perform even more photosynthesis. Keep in mind, however, that all other factors must also be present in abundance for your plant to grow optimally.
